Environmental and Energy Policy
It is the aim of Stahlwerk Bous GmbH to fulfil the demands and expectations of its customers with its products and services and, in so far as this is technically and economically possible, indeed to exceed them. We should like to promote a partnership based on reliability and competence with our customers, suppliers, employees and other sub-contractors in order to expand our leading market position and assure long-term corporate success.
This comprises amongst other things:
- manufacture of premium quality state-of-the-art products
- competitively priced products which are genuinely good value-for-money
- strict adherence to delivery dates
- reliable and competent customer care
- encouragement of qualification of our staff and contractual partners in respect of safety, health and environmental protection
- economical handling of resources, protection of our environment and observation of all relevant laws and directives
Our intention is for Stahlwerk Bous GmbH to be synonymous with quality and responsible future-oriented action with respect to its customers and suppliers as well as its staff.
In order to achieve these objectives management and staff undertake to maintain and constantly improve the quality, safety, energy and environmental standards. The primary aim of Stahlwerk Bous GmbH is to avoid potentially negative effects of industrial activity on the direct neighbourhood and the whole ecological system as far as possible or to reduce it further by the use of advanced processes and techniques.
In this context the following objectives or environmental and energy guidelines are decisive:
Accepting responsibility
Issues and decisions concerning production-related environmental protection are part of the management tasks at Stahlwerk Bous GmbH. Here responsible handling of resources, protection of our environment and the commitment to observe legal obligations and other requirements for environmental protection are of prime importance.
Preserving a natural basis for existence
Corporate action is always linked to an influencing of the environment; we therefore make every effort to keep interventions in nature and burdens on the ecological system to an absolute minimum.
Reducing environmental pollution
Beyond adherence to the relevant legal regulations and other requirements relating to environmental protection, we feel an obligation to instigate further measures on our own initiative to constantly continue reducing the contamination of air, water and soil as a result of our industrial activities, without shifting environmental protection from one medium to another. The environmental aspects of our activities are ascertained and significant environmental aspects monitored carefully. In so far as waste cannot be avoided during production the application of techniques and measures to reduce and utilise waste have priority over its disposal.
The general as well as specific targets stipulated for the reduction of environmental contamination shall be updated regularly and implemented in the context of current environmental programmes. The management makes the necessary means for this available and, at regular intervals, assesses to what extent the aims have been fulfilled.
Efficient and sustainable development
We handle energy resources responsible and are committed to a constant improvement of our energy efficiency. Our energy management provides us with all the necessary resources and information. On the basis of measuring data and manufacturer’s information, we regularly determine and assess the areas of energy relevance as well as the energy aspects of our actions and supervise the most important and essential ones. We operate appliances and facilities with the least possible energy consumption as far as possible and we always inform our staff and service providers as well as our customers about energy related subjects.
Environmental protection and energy saving affects us all
In practice environmental protection and energy saving do does not function solely through safe systems technology and legally watertight company organisation. It is rather the qualification, motivation and initiative of the staff in all areas that is decisive for success in this field. The Stahlwerk Bous GmbH regularly carries out instructions and training of the staff.
The selection and qualification of our commissioned suppliers and service providers is of essential significance. Therefore, we inform them about all the essential requirements, train them actively and integrate them in the process of our environmental and energy management.
Information
At the Stahlwerk Bous GmbH we have an open, objective and extensive discussion with staff, authorities, local residents and the media. We give information regarding environmental effects of appliances, activities and processes as well as about environmentally relevant and energy-relevant events.
